You can draw your deferred benefits in the following ways:
- At normal pension age
- Before normal pension age at your own choice, but possibly with early retirement reductions
How these work in your individual case will normally depend on what the scheme rules said about retirement at the point you left. Here are some things to consider:
- Drawing your benefits if you left before 1 April 1998
- Drawing your benefits if you left 1 April 1998 onwards
It is also sometimes possible to draw your deferred benefits early on the grounds of ill health, with no early retirement reductions.
