Letting us know someone has died

When you lose someone close to you, sorting out their finances is probably the last thing on your mind.

But if they were a member of our pension scheme, it is especially important to let us know as soon as you can.

If they were drawing a pension from us, we will need to stop their pension as soon as possible, to avoid any overpayment. And whether they were a pensioner, still paying into the scheme, or someone with deferred benefits, we will need to set up any new pensions that might apply, such as a pension for a surviving spouse or partner. There may also be a one off lump sum payment, so once again, the sooner you let us know, the sooner we can arrange this.
