We regularly carry out anti-fraud checks to make sure that we are paying the right amount of pension to the right people. For our members who live outside of the UK, we cannot do some of these anti-fraud checks automatically, therefore we need you to complete an identity verification check to confirm your identity and that you are still receiving your pension.
There are a number of different ways you can do this; please read the additional information to help you complete your check.
Complete your verification through My Pension
You can complete your verification through your My Pension account. If you have not yet registered for My Pension you can do so on the website. For help with your My Pension account please visit our My Pension support page.
1. Log in to your My Pension account.
2. Go to the 'Your Tasks' tile.
3. Click on the 'Verification process'.
4. If you have read and agree with the 'Verification Declaration', then please tick the box next to the outstanding task.
5. Click 'Submit All Tasks'.
6. You do not need to contact us to check if we have received your submitted task. You will receive an email once we have carried out our final checks. This may take up to five working days.
7. If you do not agree with the 'Verification Declaration', you will need to complete your verification using one of the alternative methods.
Microsoft Teams
You can complete the verification process over a video call at a mutually agreed time using Microsoft Teams.
We will need an email address for the call, and you will need a device that has a camera.
If you would like to complete the verification process using Microsoft Teams then please visit Eventbrite to book your video call appointment time at your selected date and time.
Appointments can't be booked less than three days in advance, so when booking your appointment please ensure the time and date you select are at least three days away.
How to install Teams mobile app
You can install Teams on your mobile device in a few different ways. The easiest way is to open the Google Play Store (on Android devices) or the Apple App Store (on iOS devices) and search for the Teams mobile app.
iOS
To install the Teams mobile app on your iPhone or iPad:
1. Open the Apple App Store on your iOS device.
2. Tap the Search icon in the store and type Microsoft Teams. Make sure you choose the Microsoft app, as shown.
3. Tap the download link to install the app on your device.
4. Once the app has finished downloading and installing, tap Open.
5. You will then be given the option to sign up for an account.
You do not need to create a Microsoft Teams account to access the meeting. Just click 'join meeting' at the time of the meeting which will open the app.
You can select to enter as a guest where you will be sent to a lobby ready for the organiser to start the meeting.
Android
To install the Teams mobile app on your Android phone or tablet:
1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
2. Tap the Search icon in the store and type Microsoft Teams. Make sure you choose the Microsoft app, as shown.
3. Tap the Install button to install the app on your device.
4. Once the app has finished downloading and installing, tap Open.
5. You will then be given the option to sign up for an account.

Joining on a laptop
Alternatively, to join on a laptop, just accept the invitation to the meeting and join the meeting once the reminder alerts you. You do not need to have Microsoft Teams installed on your laptop to join the meeting.
My pension ID app
We are currently working with a company called Target to complete the verification process for our members who live overseas.
Established in 1988, Target Professional Services is an industry leader in corporate and personal trace solutions for pension schemes and financial services.
You can confirm your details securely via Targets biometric mypensionID app.
This is available to download for free from the Apple or Google Play Stores. All you need is a mobile device capable of taking photographs, a valid government issued photographic document such as passport, driving licence or ID Card and your unique security code. To get your 12 digit security code please contact us at pension.payments@gmpf.org.uk
The mypensionID app uses secure biometric technology to verify you to your document. A simple how to guide is available at https://mypensionid.co.uk/how-it-works/ with further information on the website and an online webchat facility where they can help you with the registration process or answer any questions you have.
If you have previously verified your details on mypensionID for another pension scheme, you can access your account using the 5 digit passcode you created when you registered.
Confirmation through mypensionID is not instant but you should receive an email within 24 hours if it has been successful.
